gooooooooo gophers!
we are so close to spring, but its not quite here yet. this weekend, gf and i went cross country skiing which we have been wanting to do since last winter. it was pretty fun. i'd say we participated for around 1.5 hours or so. it wasn't tiring but it was fun to be outside doing something active. i don't think we will have a good chance to do it again until next winter, so it was a good last winter fling.
hmmm what else??! heh. the house hunting continues. i have actually been using the same realtor since late last summer/early fall. she is well versed in the areas that i have been searching. despite the likely slowdown, there is still competition out there for homes in certain areas. one home owner/realtor said there are currently about 220 homes for sale in the lake harriet area...and about 70 have already sold. his house is listed for $500,000 and the basement was gross, and both bathrooms looked to be very old. bleah. i'm sure it will sell pretty quickly too! people are crazy. its pretty much to the point where if the house is listed for $300,000 you are left wondering what must be wrong with it (because surely it should be at least $400k right?). i think $300k is sort of my sweet spot, anything notably above that and i feel like i'd be pushing it. obviously if i could find something for cheaper, that would be great.
well anyway, i think i will be making a move come this summer. i'm hot on the trail. just have to wait for the right one to come along. meanwhile, i'm eating up the gas by driving way the heck over there to check out houses every weekend. conversely, one good thing about the pent up demand is just that, when it comes time to re-sell, i have to think people will always want to live over in that area (for many reasons).
while skiing was great, this winter has dragged on like no other. today it was mid-teens with a low of single digits. I CAN'T STAND THIS CRAP FOR MUCH LONGER.
friday i ran about 6 miles and sunday i ran another 5 ('mill). nothing too major. stretching my hip flexor after running seems to be working wonders (duh).
next week: WCHA playoffs baby!!!!!!!! go GOPHERS. rule. i went to 3 regular season games this year and now its playoff time baby. they are seeded #1 but they had some trouble down the stretch.
i have my tickets, now my sister and i are going to the playoffs, and we aren't leaving the arena until they win the championship. end of story. THE GOPHER WILL WIN.

XC is the greatest.
Well, kind of. It's wonderful if you don't have to travel much to do it, and it looks like we're not going to have an opportunity to do it down here by the CT Shoreline this year.
Good luck on the house.
