Poignant Irrelevance

i came down with a cold following my arrival back into town last week. it seemed to linger. i ran only twice. the second run of the week was a ~9.5 mile run outdoors with a buddy of mine that i have known since middle school. i was completely gassed, i could not even talk for the last 20-30 minutes of the run. the run averaged 9:20 but the last few miles were slower than that; i had nothing. i felt like poo.

i also felt a little burned out on running last week but i think that had more to do with my cold. maybe running in the rain the week prior wasn't such a good idea after all.

today was the first day that i actually started to feel better. i ran 5 miles tonight around 9:00 pace on the 'mill. my left hip flexor has been bothering me a bit lately. i better keep tabs on it!

i surprised my gf on sunday morning with some freshly made pancakes, courtesy of my new griddle thingie. pretty good eh? seriously, i don't know what i'm doing in the kitchen. i think it went over pretty well. i bought some petite no-name steaks that i need to figure out how to make on it next.

i can't think of anything interesting to say. hmmmm. i'm trying to lose 25 lbs by june. well i guess i'm going to go to bed. adios for now.

  • I don't think it's possible to have a good run when you have a cold!

Do you have Food Network? I like the Good Eats show with Alton Brown; that's a good source for learning what to do in a kitchen. He had a show about waffles recently, too.

  • i'm sure your cold didn't help! but of course you know that VIRUSES cause colds, not getting wet! Right?
