i had a great time.
i did a lot of things i've never done before such as: holding onto a tube being pulled by a jet ski (i got dumped once but they were driving pretty nice for me overall), driving/riding a jet ski (i hit 50 mph! wooo!), and lots of other stuff. fun times were had by all, and the weather was pretty much perfect.
on saturday morning i put in about 11.1 miles, average pace was just under 11:00, but i managed a 10:00 on the last mile. you know what? miraculously, i felt pretty great. i think i could have done several more miles without being overly tired. yeah! not much knee pain or hip flexor pain. some progress??!!
i ran on a dirt road which surely helped. i felt like i was running inside of danc7s w/w0lves. rolling hills, cows, etc. it was extremely peaceful.
fishing is very peaceful too. i haven't fished for years. this was our view from the boat on night #2. at that moment, i didn't want to be any other place in the world.
we caught enough fish to eat that night. well, we only kept 3 but our host was gracious enough to fillet them and cook them up for us. here i am posing for the camera (mmmmm, fresh fish):
toasting some marshmallows afterwards!
well, that is all for now. more later. i'm absolutely beat and i have to go to work early in the morning. i'll be asleep before i hit the pillow tonight.

mmmmmmm...toasting marshmallows. I never have the patience to "toast" them so I set them on fire, burn them to a crisp, peel off the outer burned layer & eat it, and then set the marshmallow on fire and repeat the process over until the marshmallow has been devoured.
What? You didn't whack the fish heads off yourself? What kind of fisherman are you? Looks like a FUN time!

How fun that all sounds - and a good run to boot! That's the way to spend a holiday.

That looks like such a fun holiday! I spent the weekend on a sailboat with no refrigerator or microwave or stove, and a toilet that wouldn't flush. It was... sort of rustic.

Omigosh, you look just like Alcott, the 15 year old foster kid I work with, in the pic with the marshmallows - such a baby's face you have. :-)
