minor tbd and other
the trip to her parents' home went well. two of the neighbors even stopped by to meet me over the course of the long weekend. i also met her best friend from college, her "second parents" (very good friends of the family), and some other friends of the family. i think i did ok; the reports back evaluating my character are promising :)
we played board games, took a driving tour of her home town, went to a movie, chatted about stuff, laughed a lot, and i golfed twice with her dad. and bunch of other stuff.
one of the most uncomfortable moments for me was the second time her dad and i golfed. this was my first time out golfing this year, and i was in mid-season form. i felt great out there. i beat her dad prettty good on the second round (he beat me the first round). i felt bad about that. they told me i was blushing when we got back, as her dad told everybody the scores. well i wasnt keeping score during the round but i guess i knew i was doing ok--i had a few pars and no double-bogeys which is really good for me. oops. for some reason it just did not feel right to beat her dad out on his home course. hopefully everybody will forget about that! it took me a while to get over it.
also exciting news, i ran two days in a row for the first time since the 10k race at the end of april. the first run was on saturday morning: 4.5 miles and i did not feel any pain. i was running pretty slow however (10:40 pace or so).
the second run was 5.0 miles on sunday morning: however this time i did feel the usual knee ache after about 20 minutes. yet, i felt no pain as soon as i stopped and for the rest of the day. yeah!
i haven't run since sunday though because i've let some other priorities get in the way. i did however take a break at work today and plan out my running schedule for the entire summer which i'm pretty excited about.
this weekend is her birthday, also the same day that marks 7-months since our first date. tonight i had to run around getting the gift and planning out this weekend.
i forgot to mention i had to work until 1am on tuesday night (technically wednesday morning). i went to bed at 2:30am and arrived back at the office 3 hours later at 5:40am. thus on wednesday i was a complete wreck and today i'm still not fully recovered.
i'm still pretty tired. this weekend looks a little busy too but hopefully it will be fun times. it WILL include at least one run and hopefully two. i will report back. have a good weekend everybody.

awesome running, and that's pretty funny about beating her dad. i bet you'll be laughing about that for years to come...and happy anniversary and birthday (to her!)
