i packed a bit tonight. then i stripped down to my boxers to go to bed (i'm exhausted-- busy week at the office). even though i have been resisting, i decided to step on the scale before i went to bed. essentially my diet went to crap because i started to get grumpy, and i figured i would get back at my bum knee by eating like poop. make sense? uh huh.
anyway, i was so appalled at the reading that i scrounged together some workout attire and drove to the gym after 11pm. totally ridiculous, its time to be an adult and stop eating like that because i'm pissed off about not running.
i laced up the new shoes, which feel pretty cool on the sidewalk and street (to/from apartment and to/from the gym). its kind of hard to evaluate them via a treadmill run though because thats like running on a matress. so i will have to wait another time to give my full opinion. i did have trouble getting them laced up properly though; first they felt too loose, then too tight, then too loose, then too tight, and so on. typical first-time-wearing-a-new-shoe crap.
my knee began to ache at the 12 minute mark. i ran for 30 minutes, covering 2.91 miles. i did a lot of stretching before and after. i'll be curious to see how it feels tomorrow. it definitely doesn't feel as bad right now as it had after my previous exercise sessions, but that may be due to the treadmill. given that it hurt right away, i should probably switch to the elliptical for a while.
a cute girl smiled at me at the gym-- all is not lost. that is all for now, i better get to bed.

damn knees!! you'd think after all these years they would have perfected the knee. but nooooo... the moral of this story is: Stay off the scale at night! :)

you did the smart thing...wait, no, going to the gym at 11pm isn't the smart thing, what i meant to say is that you did the smart thing by getting in some light exercise and stretching.
here's hoping that you're right as rain soon.
let me leave you with this, though. what was all that great talk we had last year about fueling your body for success? c'mon, brent. don't let me down. i mean, you made a frickin' SALAD! get to it, man!
