shoes in the mail
i went on ahead and ordered some new shoes on the internet from a place called zappos.
i ordered them wednesday night and got them today (friday morning). wow that was fast! they are ugly (no offense to anyone that owns a pair) but i'm desperate for something different. they are ugly on the website and they are ugly in person. plus, who has ever heard of spira? not me.
i'm a sucker for reading all of the user reviews. one guys review said, "Interesting Choice - I bought this shoe based on its controversy. It was banned by one of the track and field bodies based on the rebound effect with its internal spring mechanisim. I like the shoe very much and feel it helps me 10-15% over my old shoes."
i'm all about following the rules and stuff but uh, where do i sign for these bad boys? hehe. i've been wearing them all day and practically scolded myself into not running several times today, in order to try and pull something off tomorrow.
but they're so springy! and these shoes are so good they might be illegal in some races! yeah but you need to run tomorrow foo! don't do it!
is it wrong if i sleep with new shoes on tonight? ha ha ha ha.

Wow, very glad to hear that those shoes have such a great personality ;)
But seriously, it's awesome that they are working out so great for you, it's so hard to find the perfect shoe (hey, do you know if they have those in women's sizes? I have some Adidas supernova cushions - made for regular build, underpron. and/or high arch, think these might be comparable? Bouncy shoes are so much fun!)

hey Wil. yep i think they make a women's shoe too. i'll have to check in to some adidas. i have a high arch also.

I have a pair of Spira's and I'm also a girl who wears Supernova Cushions so I think Wil should be able to find a pair.
My pair is god awful ugly silver and they look like robot shoes. I think they are an older model though. Now -- as for the shoe. I found that they didn't fit my foot that well in the heel and caused me to get a strange blister by the end of the half marathon I wore them in. Because of that I relegated them to everyday wear instead of running but they are very comfy and super springy. I met the guy who started the company at the Expo at the Disney marathon. He was really nice so I was glad to buy his shoe -- I just think that they need to get a better woman's last so they fit a bit better.
