Poignant Irrelevance

the 20-miler today was kind of miserable. i ran through medium- to heavy mist for the entire 3:30 run, and the temp was around 60 degrees. i was soaked for the whole run. soaked shoes, shirt sticking to me, cold breezes whisking off the lakes at random times, yada yada.

the aches and soreness weren't too bad after the run, but i did have to take a nap this afternoon. the long hot shower after the run was absolutely crucial and was nice indeed.

i was starting to wear down a bit during the last few miles. i had 3 clif bloks before the run, 3 at 1 hour, another 3 at 2 hours. in the future, i think i will wake up extra early to have a more normal breakfast (minus any fiber).

thus completes my peak 55 mile week! sweet. my last 20-miler will be in about 4 weeks. we are getting closer!!!

  • Great job!!! I can't believe it's almost taper time. And way to go with the 55, that's a LOT of miles!
