Poignant Irrelevance

i couldn't make the Lakes Run work with my schedule today but i nabbed a 3.1 mile run around my neighborhood (before one of my dates hehe). i did some faster running on the last mile+ so that was kind of fun. i felt it though, but it was cool to work hard. this has to be one of the last weekends where special winter running gear will not be required, it felt unseasonably warm again today. nice. i was also able to look at some half marathon training schedules. it'll be really tough to follow the schedule during the weekdays, so i might have to skip all of the speed work. not sure though. i might have to be using the treadmill during the week because i'm not up to the point of wearing a headlamp around my neighborhood. ha. the 'burb teenagers would probably come up with a game like hit the kid wearing the headlamp or something. ha ha. the other thing that will be tough are the hills workouts. as you can see, i'm not sure how this winter running this is going to work as far as scheduling. last winter i basically worked my way up to 30 minute treadmill runs so this winter is a whole new ball game in terms of what i will expect from myself. i also regret gaining weight. no surprise, it happened from age 25-28 under that faux light.

  • what? 3 hour treadmill runs don't sound appealing to you? haha

  • I've never made it past two hours on the treadmill and that was TOUGH! Who knows, maybe if you ease into the winter running it won't be SO bad. Of course, I have no idea how cold it is there or how much snow you guys get! Probably tons, which is a lot more than the zero snow we got last year!
