memorize this procedure
put on polar watch. find clean running boxers (yeah i use certain ones for certain reasons). find clean running shorts and shirt. my sister tells me blue and black don't go together so thats the only rule i use to make sure the shorts and shirt match. find a matching pair of running sox--who cares if they are clean; as long as they aren't wet we have a winner! put on some fresh deodorant. find the chest strap for the HR; wet the sensors so they will take accurate readings right away. find car keys. which shoes should i wear today? make sure the foot pod is on the right pair of shoes. put band-aid on the purple toenail. where did i put that clean pair of sox? grab a bottle of water...should i take gatorade? ok, take water and gatorade. where did i put those car keys? oh yeah where'd i put that chest strap? there it is, put it on. make sure the polar watch is set to take accurate readings. should i take a snack too? nah. where's my wallet? where's my cell phone? should i lift weights before or after my run? does my mp3 player have enough juice to get me through the run? why isn't this as simple as it used to be? welcome to my world every single time i go for a run. sort of complicated huh? maybe i should be in some sort of a study. heh.
last night i had an awesome biceps workout. it ruled! today my run sucked. this is a step-back week on hal's schedule. i'm not really following it exactly this week because my shins are not cooperating. today ended up being 5 miles at about 11:00 average pace. my HR at the end of the run was 167 range at 11:00 pace--that is horrible. oh well, not every run is sweet.
tonight is a shoulders workout...i can't wait. rip it! i'm getting stronger this year for whatever reason, and i like it.
