I was pleasantly surprised by another 1 pound loss this week. Maybe I was too hard on myself...this would not be out of character.
Last year I tried the south beach and the losses happened more quickly. Pounds were melting off at a rapid pace. But eventually I started to go a little crazy on the low carb thing and veered way off course.
This is happening more slowly than I would like but I am eating normal things, a plan which I consider more realistic and sustainable.
I'm sore from last nights lift. Tomorrow it will be worse, the second day is always worse eh? DOMS--Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness. The reason you are sore is because you are tearing your muscle fibers when you lift.
I'm not sure I can both lift and train for a half/marathon at the same time. This has me a little stumped. I really like lifting. Have a good weekend!

I think you should definitely keep lifting weights while training for a half/full-- it counts as cross training, and my coach told me that upper body strength is so important in keeping yourself running 2-5 hours... but you may want to make sure you don't bulk up. Not really a problem for the ladies!
I'm sort of doing a modified South Beach thing right now, although I don't deny myself all carbs. It does seem to work, but I do miss all the pasta...

a one pound loss is great! Especially when you are adding bulk lean mass at the same time with your lifting. I agree with rachel, i think you should continue both - stamina and all that jazz - is it worth going to a personal trainer once to work out a programme? and your welcome about the write up on my site! my pleasure!

Congrats on the loss. That's rocking! You're really ramping up to something bigger here. What's keeping you fueled, motivation-wise?
