Of Plateaus And The Windex Man

Don't be afraid to push through plateaus. For example if you curl 35# dumbbells for 5 years, you will be an expert curler of 35# dumbbells but thats about it. But what about 40's? Don't be afraid to use poor form once in a while, don't be afraid to push through 4 really hard reps with a heavier weight than you are used to (use a spotter). That is how you break through plateaus. I need to remember that more often myself.

And running, while I am no expert in that area, I assume you need to push yourself once in a while to actually break through to that next level. Don't be afraid to push through your comfort zone once in a while! You will be rewarded!

The windex man has my sporatic running schedule down pat I guess. I was not happy to see him back at it. But this time I thought to myself, windex is my oxygen. If you, mr. windex man, were to quit spraying windex I might quit my run. Spray on windex man, spray on! That seemed to help.

5 miles. ok run. A little slower than the last 5 miler but I pushed through some tough miles. I feel pretty good right now! Of course this all means I won't be able to fall asleep until 2am or something. I'm all hopped up on a runners high.

  • are they still called plateaus when you stay the same weight but you have chosen to eat crap for six months? I guess not! Self induced plateaus are the worst kind o reckon and with those too you need to push yourself. That's where I am at. And well done on the five mile run. I ran three minutes last night at the gym and thought that I was a finely tuned athlete!!!!!
