losing fitness

taking one week off was ok, but now after the second week of essentially no running, i'm starting to get frustrated.

do these two shots from my cell phone of my (left) foot x-rays look normal to you? looks like something is up to me. the podiatrist didn't see a stress fracture and told me to ease back into it; ice after work outs, ibuprofen, yada yada. blah blah. the 'injury' could have been caused by new shoes, running on uneven surface, etc. he didn't seem that alarmed, and i'm not a doctor, but just look at the x-rays...something doesn't seem right.

he also said i have something called metatarsus adductus. could cause problems down the road. its a genetic thing that you have from birth. might need custom orthotics. whatever. i might see another specialist next week if i'm still in pain. i still can't walk around or push off of my foot without pain during the day and so forth.

oh well.

  • Huh. I have no idea what foot x-rays should look like--are toe bones supposed to be that long?? Or are you "special"?

It's hard to tell sometimes whether to go with what the specialist is telling you, or with your own instincts. Either one can be wrong!

  • that's a great idea - taking pics of your xrays... i never thought of that!

i have no idea if that looks normal, or if you're "special"

    good luck!
