forewarning: this post is a random spewing of thoughts.
i ran 10.3 on saturday afternoon with a buddy--we finished with an average pace of about 9:15. it was a fun run (and great weather) but after 1.5 hours, i felt like i was ready to be done. the primary issue was my knee, it wasn't feeling so great. these tweaks seem to come and go over time, so i'll just wait for this one to go. my average heart rate was 137.
i finished the week with 29.3 miles. not too bad i guess, for the second week after the marathon? although for some reason it didn't feel like i ran enough miles. plus my diet sucked, so i just felt lethargic overall.
i'm researching health clubs again, for those times during the week when its dark outside and i want to get in a good workout. health clubs are such a ripoff. there is one that is super close to me but they require a 1-year commitment. sucks. i might go with them anyway because its less than 2 miles from me.
seems like only 30-40% of my old running blog feeds update nowadays. come on guys! i guess i don't update as much these days either though. i don't know why i find running so interesting. i could read 50 blog entries a day about the subject.
today i purchased two area rugs from the pottery barn; they set me back about $1,000 total. ouch. i have been looking at rugs for months. hand knotted, hand tufted, machine woven, blah blah blah, you name it i've looked at it. i finally said screw it, i'm just going to get a couple from the pottery barn and put an end to this. did you know macy's sells $10,000 rugs? dumb. i will post some pictures of mine when i get them set up. for now, here are the stock pictures from the website:
the rug in picture #2 will go in the main living room. rug in picture #1 will go either downstairs or up in the bedroom (haven't decided yet). i have all wood floors so i've been anxious to add some area rugs to make it look/feel a bit more cozy.

The rugs will make such a difference! It's crazy how they warm a room up! We spent a lot of time rug shopping because they are wicked expensive!
