stats

here are my stats through the various checkpoints from the race:
---------------------------

---------------------------
yikes.
seems obvious that i hit a wall well before mile 20. my average pace went up by over a minute per mile from miles 13.1 - 18.6, compared to the preceding 6.9 miles.

then it went up by another 1 minute 19 seconds from mile 18.6 to mile 20.

and up by yet another 56 seconds per mile over the last 10k.

check out the first 10k of the race versus the last 10k of the race.

crap. painfully obvious that i was going way too fast for most of the race.

i found the 4:15 pace group leader's bib # and calculated her stats:
--------------------

--------------------
wow! she's a machine! sweet. she crossed every checkpoint with an average pace that was within less than 1% of the previous checkpiont. wow, she can pace me any time!
thats awesome.

as you can see, her second 10k of the race only took 16 seconds longer than the very first 10k. knowing from personal experience what its like to run the last portion of this race uphill in particular, i'm in total awe of her race. stud! her finishing time was 4:14:58.

  • I tend to be more like you in my races, I've yet to have a marathon with a near even pace across the board. I keep trying though, maybe someday!
