finished
i did it!
my chip time was 4:38:36; it took me around 6 minutes to get to the start. thats about a 20 minute improvement from last year.
i was smokin' through the first half! felt great.
my knee locked up on summit ave (miles 22-23 something like that) which was pretty tough. i walked quite a bit from then on.
but one of the worst things was this little thing on my foot that started developing near the half-marathon point:

oh dear, its huge! where did that come from??
i feel so much better after this marathon that last year, i can't tell you enough about how much better i feel. i was definitely in better condition for this one! i never felt "out of it" on the course either. and for that, i am very pleased.
i couldn't turn in a 4:20 but sometimes things happen. it was very warm out there toward the back half...75+! very warm. but in the end, i am so happy. another marathon! holy crap, i never woulda guessed it was possible.
more pictures and stories later but i thought i would report in. thanks everybody!
i'm really stinky and i must go take a shower. and try to get some food down, hopefully.

Congratulations! I thought you looked strong turning onto Summit, sorry to hear things didn't go as well after that.
Ouch about your foot! Soaking in epsom salts might help tighten the skin back up - that looks painful!
Looking forward to your full report - congrats again! Nice PR!
