Poignant Irrelevance

just a quick update. i did a heavier shoulders work out tonight but it lacked some intensity. i think it was about 10 sets total. i also did a maintenance chest routine yesterday or the day before, can't remember.

my sister called tonight to tell me that someone got beaten up over by one of my favorite running routes so i'm not allowed to run there anymore! heh. i think it was at night though. apparently there were 3 kids ages 14-19 that beat up an older guy who was walking aorund the lake; he didn't have any money so they jumped up and down on his back and he has to learn to walk again plus he has bruises all over his body etc. what is wrong with this world, that is so insane. i don't understand.

as of today i'm down 16 pounds since july. woohoo! it ends up being about 1 lb a week ave so nothing drastic. actually now that i think about it, i believe it is even less than 1 lb a week, oh well. slowly but surely. i don't want any compliments though that is not why i am mentioning, i am just excited! yeah!!

  • Brent,
    16 lbs. is 16 lbs. From a running point of view, that's worth about 30 seconds/mile based on the 2 sec./mile/lb. formula. Carrying that out, it's 1.5 min in a 5K, 2.5 min in a 5 mile/8K, 3 min in a 10K, 6.5 min in a half-marathon, and 13 min in a full. Certainly nothing to grouse about.

  • I'm telling you that you're not allowed to run on that path anymore, either. If horrible, nasty children frequent that area it's just not worth the risk. Besides, what would all of the hot babes do if you were unavailable for dates because you had so many bruies???

  • That's awesome!! 16 pounds is huge and a pound a week is completely perfect. Ppl who lose a ton of weight fast always seem to gain it back.

I hate stupid punks. I wish I could form my own country where only ppl I like could live. It would be awesome with tons of great running paths. And lots of dogs.
