took the trails for the 3-miler. i'd like to be able to do 3 in 30 on the trails eventually. tonight it was 31:17 with splits of

i saw a big huge doe, a deer, in mile 2. it was on the path looking away from me with its head down, eating some grub. i kept running toward it and then it looked up at me. i slowed my pace. it moved to the middle of the path while continuing to look at me. i slowed to a walk and contemplated throwing something toward it to get it moving. in the end i decided to take a detour. while i was running away i kept peering over my shoulder. i think i've seen one too many "nature can kill" shows in my day-- i half imagined it might start hauling after me to kick me in the shins.

OK, Dude, you're seriously inspiring me tonight. I just read your last like three posts and I'm totally going to start turning the TV off while I eat so that I can focus on my food, and start adding extra fruit in the middle of the day for snackage. Oh, and then there's the serious mileage you're piling up - OMIGOSH. Seriously, inspired!

The movie "Are We there Yet" has a funny seen about a deer beating up on the guy when he gets to close. Guess if it really happened it wouldn't be all that funny.
