raining gray

the gray skies are raining down over here in the upper midwest tundra. how convenient, this describes my running mood too.

my right shin has been bothering me for a couple days even when i'm not out pounding the pavement. like right now when i'm just sitting here, it feels uncomfortable. not cool! so anyway. i believe i have around 22 weeks until the marathon so i am going to take this opportunity to rest the shins and figure it all out. rachel sent a very helpful link that includes some exercises and info. i will try those out.

i will do the elliptical later. i hope that doesn't put too much pressure on the shins (been a while since i did the evil elliptical). seems like since it is "low impact", it should be ok. and still a good workout. i think i will also try to find an ice pack at a sports store.

last night i had chinese food; it tasted so salty. ick. i am very hungry right now even though yesterday was likely a very big calorie day (not sure how many calories are in chinese food).

i have this weird craving for red fish.

  • Ouchy! I hope your shinny, shin, shins feel better soon! Re: the salty Chinese food, since I started cutting that kind of stuff out of my diet, now when I have it occassionally, I really notice how salty it tastes too! Recently I had one of those frozen broccoli w/ cheese sauce deals... and wow! I could not believe how salty it was!

  • Heh, we had chineese on Friday night, which means leftovers on Saturday and I just ate the last of it for dinner tonight.
