its fuzzy, but i think i see a light off in the distance

i have been believing in myself this week. its kinda cool. i don't want to get too excited though, my next entry will probably be all about how crappy i feel. ah ha ha. i'm not sure what it is. i think mainly i'm starting to believe in what i'm about to accomplish. i'm not believing because of a smaller waist line though i can tell you that much. Scale and i have been having a few disagreements lately about the progress being made. Scale has been locked up somewhere in a dark corner underneath the bathroom sink. Scale is grounded! but anyway, back to the believing part. hopefully it continues.

tomorrow is an out of town trip so no surprise, i will miss my thursday 3 miler for the third week in a row? tonight is a 4 miler (will do later when you are all in bed ha). and then my try at a 9 miler. woah. the thing that sucks most about this one-long-run-a-week theory is that immediately after i finish the weeks long run, i'm subsequently thinking about the next one all week long. 9 miles? my longest is 7.5. crazy. who does this Hal Higdon thing he is?

p.s. i haven't head headaches because i'm still drinking skim latte's? it seems like a no brainer but last time i quit the dew, i was drinking latte's and the headaches were something fierce. maybe i had so much dew its still working its way through my system. which could be true because i spent what seemed like 5 minutes at the urinal the other day.

  • Lock up that stupid scale! Let us both agree that our latest readings are completely WRONG.

  • is it an overnight trip? take your running stuff anyways. you might just find some time to squeeze it in.

speaking of mid-week runs, it's those base miles that you put in during the week that will really help you get through the long run on the weekend. i've always found that if i do all the basework, the long stuff is a breeze, and when i miss a bunch of mid-week runs, the weekends are a struggle.

    good luck with the 9!

  • I let my scale off yesterday for good behavior. He had been just nasty so far this year but finally on Friday he was good.

I wanted to throw him out the window on Monday, but somehow he managed a 5 pound drop instead of the continual upward spiral so I am giving him (and me) another chance.
