Run With Your Heart....Not With Your Legs.

I just wanted to leave you with an inspiring quote as we enter the weekend.
i like it so much i'm going to type it again for ya.

Run with your heart, not with your legs.

I'm reading the Dean Karnazes book, Ultramarathon Man right now. I'll throw up a brief review when I finish.

That's all I have. I'm going to try to pry my fingers from the keyboard over this nice holiday weekend. Ha! Well I'll try at least.

I leave you with one outside-the-comfort-zone fitness challenge that I WILL BE COMPLETING. I have determined that one reason I do not run outside during the winter is because only *serious*, hardcore runners run outside during the winter. I guess I don't(didn't?) think I was good enough to run outside in the cold! Well huey on that, I think I'm good enough. Not because I'm fast, or skinny, or slow, or carrying some extra poundage. I'm freakin' good enough to run outside in the cold because I just am.

  • You're definitely good enough to run outside!! Of course, I've never associated outdoor runners with being the *serious* ones. But, either way, I'd consider you a serious runner for sure!

  • You're makin me laugh, Brent! I run outside year round and would never consider myself to be a "serious hardcore" runner. I only wish my legs would run as fast a my heart want them to. *sigh*

I am looking forward to reading blogs about your outdoor running...yeah!

  • I definitely agree with you. Being from Massachusetts, when I see people out there running in the cold and the rain or snow, I think...Wow, HARDCORE! But I also really admire and respect them for doing it. Well. To a point. If it's a big snowstorm or below zero, I think "idiot". LOL! So go hardcore! You can dooo eet!

  • Have fun running outside! Once you start, you will never want to get on the treadmill again.
