Gat0rade Works On Endurance

------
I WILL NOT EAT ANY MORE "PROTEIN" BARS because THEY ARE CANDY BARS BY A DIFFERENT NAME,
I WILL NOT EAT ANY MORE "PROTEIN" BARS because THEY ARE CANDY BARS BY A DIFFERENT NAME,
repeat after me
I WILL NOT EAT ANY MORE "PROTEIN" BARS because THEY ARE CANDY BARS BY A DIFFERENT NAME.

I WILL NOT BUY A PLASMA TV,
I WILL NOT BUY A PLASMA TV,
I WILL BUY A PLASMA TV.
oops i mean I WILL NOT BUY A PLASMA TV.

Why would Gat0rade take any chances tinkering with a brand that dominates the fast-growing $5 billion-a-year U.S. sports-drink market? One reason: c0ke is pouring more marketing muscle into P0werade, which ranks a distant second to Gat0rade but is chipping away at Gat0rade's lead. Gat0rade has an 80% market share, compared with 17% for P0werade, according to data from Beverage Digest/Maxwell.

.

Gat0rade scientists long have seen the need for a reformulated version of the drink. Some football players drink pickle juice or eat mustard before long practices to get an extra jolt of sodium.

While many Americans are trying to reduce their sodium intake, Gat0rade is targeting Endurance Formula at more-sophisticated consumers who realize the importance of replenishing sodium lost during lengthy exercise. Gat0rade says the original formula still will hydrate most people effectively.

  • I think the history of gatorade is such a cool story! I hate seeing kids (or even non-endurance athletes) gulping down gatorade. It's great for high endurance athletes who sweat a lot, but I don't think it's the best thing for kids/non-athletes to be drinking 3-4 bottles a day with that much sodium!

  • Hee! Loved that about the protein bars. Come on, not ALL of them are candy bars. Are they? *looks guiltily at her box of Sculpt bars* Meh - at least the ones I like don't have chocolate on them :)

  • Oo! I've got it! Maybe every time you want to buy a protein bar...you should save the money and save it towards your plasma TV? Ummm...well you better switch to those protein bars that cost $100 each first, and then do that.
