300 miles

just as a follow up to the ultramarathon man review...pam reed went 300 miles to mark the new record. dean had to quit at 262 miles on his attempt, which is still an insanely far distance. but i read one article where dean was quoted as saying she was able to beat him because her route was more flat.
here is one pam article.

  • 300 miles, that's just mind-boggling. I saw an interview with the Ultramarathon guy on TV last night and he was talking about once running for 24 hours on a treadmill in a shop window for some promotion. And here I am applauding myself if I can run 5K or run for 40 minutes straight! It sure makes you feel humble, heh.

  • I can't imagine doing that! Not only could I never stay awake that long, but to run the whole time? Congrats to her!
