taking it easy; 2005 mileage update
wow i'm feeling better now, thanks for the encouragement folks. i took it easy tonight with no fun activities planned whatsoever. i got home at 4pm, had some dinner, crashed on the couch until 6pm. went to the store, bought some stuff, crashed for a couple more hours.
i will start posting my weekly mileage on sunday from now on (after tonight of course). to give me a reality check etc. i will post the weely mileage goal followed by the actual mileage. i hope they are both the same going forward.
keeping in mind that january is a wicked busy month at work, here are the results so far. this will be much easier to follow when i do it once a week so please excuse the mess...
Week of January 16th (i re-dedicate myself and dream about my 1st marathon in October 2005. this also coincides with my first full week of following an official diet in '05): 11.3 miles
Jan 23: 17.4 miles
Jan 30: 2.3 miles
Feb 6 (i decide to follow Hal Higdon's schedule, this is week #1 on his plan): Goal-- 15 miles. Actual-- 17.0 miles
Feb 13: Goal-- 16 miles. Actual-- 12.0 miles
Feb 20: Goal-- 15 miles. Actual-- 0.0 miles + whatever i do tomorrow morning (probably 5 miles).
i don't know what to do with the marathon training schedule. do i start over? hmm. maybe i will go back one week or something. i just realized that hal's weeks start on monday and not sunday. i will adjust my mileage results later.
now i'm going to read my runners world and a couple more chapters of Memorial Day by Flynn. speaking of runners world, Dianna got her feature story published online at the runners world daily news section!!! wooohoo! nice job Dianna, that is so awesome!!! word is spreading fast across the RBF but i still wanted to give my shout-out. well done chica!
The alarm is set for tomorrow morning's run. I have also decided to go to the weigh-in because they give me all of my food for following week, its just easier this way. i am prepared for another gain but if i look back at October '04 (last busy month at work), i was eating way out of control so i'm net improving and moving myself in the right direction. i will be glass half full tonight.

hey there. Don't know if you used Hal Higdon's schedule before, but I used it fo rmy first half marathon and it worked out great. I was more than ready for the race after following the 12 week plan. Stick to it and it will work!! Good luck!!
