ladders

You know you are getting old when....you start to find things on MTV to be offensive and flat out in poor taste. Not all of it but more and more they seem to be crossing the line. This must be what the kids like these days though.

Which brings me to my ladder story. During my run this morning one TV had a ladder infommercial on for 1/2 hour. Seriously. Three people stood on it this way and that way all the while exclaiming that it was a mighty fine ladder. The large studio audience was also in awe of this fine specimen of a ladder. Then this 300 lb dude who is very overweight and has on skin tight clothes got on and climbed to the top step and get this, wiggled around, and with a straight face exclaimed "...and I'm 300 lbs; This latter is awesome!". what? (no volume but I could read the scrolling text on the bottom of the tv). I found this to be highly offensive! The crowd nods in agreement, wow yes this must be a great ladder because this huge dude is wiggling all around and its not moving an inch. Then on the other ESPN tv they have highlights of a seriously overweight dude with his shirt off wiggling all around and the commentators are laughing and saying things like "oh that is just wrong". well it is wrong but why must you show it and then make fun of the dude. offensive!
