Gain: 1.5 lbs. very stressful week. made some poor choices. ran once. lifted once. pretty self explanatory.
one morning this week i hit a new low on my home scale (a new low in '05 anyway). one day this week i felt gross, bloated, and disgusting. one day at work this week i couldn't keep my pants up so i moved to a new hole on my belt. one day this week i had 4 or 5 desserts in one day (i get 7 desserts a week). ahh the ebbs and flows of life.
now this is a new week, lets make it a good one!
p.s. i ran 3 10:00 miles this morning then quit in order to make in time to my weigh-in (slept in too long). plan on sneaking in another short run tonight.

oh wow - that's weird...not so much the graphic, but the fact that my Mom forwarded me an entire email today of interesting art and that was one of them. I was just getting ready to post that same graphic on my blog, but you beat me to it!

Brent - sounds like you've had an interesting week! I noticed earlier you said you were following Higdon's training schedule. Isn't it 18 weeks long? Because October is like twice that. So on rough weeks, you can repeat the same week as last. Or you can do that as many times as you need to (he actually gave this advice on the half scheduling). Also, you have more than enough time to train for a half, and then after that (I think it's 12 weeks, because I did 11 and I think I had choppped it off by 1) and then do the 18 weeks after that. I don't know, just thinking out loud...maybe ramping up that way is more forgiving? Once you're feeling better and back into running your normal routine, it probably won't even matter.

it is all perspective isn't it?? You gained but you took your belt in one - so maybe lost fat gained muscle - doesn't make you feel any better does it? But it is just one more step in the direction of your goal - and if you allow yourself 7 desserts in a week and eat them all in a day - does it even itself out in the long run???
