bueller?

i will try to get back on track with sticking to fitness related entries. maybe tomorrow. i wanted to say that i did not like baltimore. that is so rare for me, usually i find almost every city i visit to be interesting or attractive in some way or another. i mean, i liked DC and isn't that just around the corner?

i felt lonely in baltimore. it didn't feel comfortable and i just did not like it! i'm fairly observant and i try to get a good feel for a city by walking around on the weekend, during the week, and also asking people how they like the area. i gave baltimore chances but to no avail, i rate it below average.

one more bizarre thing happened to me....the cab that took me from downtown area to the airport had windows that would not roll up. going 70+ mph and sitting in the backseat with the window rolled down...well, i felt like i was being hit with a pillow in the face for about 15 minutes. just my luck, i get in a cab with broken windows. oh well.
ok i lied, one more thing. on the way out to balt., i was hungry for lunch at the airport. i could not decide on anything so i ordered a quiznos oven roasted turkey--it seemed safe enough. however, i happened to see the dude put on mayo. it was some triple faucet mayo dispenser and it was the most disgusting thing i've ever seen. i walked out before it even came off the toaster. i have never done that before (i had already paid for it). gross, i couldn't imagine eating it. i wonder what happened to it? i thought about giving it away but i just didn't want to even deal with it. i also thought about sticking around to watch them try to find the owner of that gross sandwich "#517? #517????? ORDER #517!!! BUELLER? BUELLER??"

i went to a sports bar and ordered a chicken breast sandwich instead. it was probably fried in butter but, no mayo!

my window seat on the return voyage provided good views of neat clouds. i got a clean window too...this makes up for the cab ride with broken windows. i think clouds are sort of mysterious, powerful, untouched by man. or something like that. maybe you have to be there.

...

and baltimore is not a clean city.

  • *MWAH* The mayo incident made me fall off the chair, hilarious! I love the pictures out of airplane window - reminds me of flying to Italy few weeks back - oh good times :)

  • If you get the chance, visit Norfolk. It's sorta nearby. I really liked it, though I have to admit I didn't go outside the touristy waterfront area. Also got to see a guy standing RIGHT ON THE STREET CORNER selling crack. Right smack downtown. Here in Gooberland that's done in the residential streets, not business streets. I was shocked. Guess I'm turning Southern.

but seriously, i did like norfolk, crack and all.

  • The clouds are cool. I like taking photos from plane windows too. I think you were wise to walk away from the quizno's I've looked up their calories not too much there by the way of "light".

  • Oh, lovely clouds. I for one can barely stand to look out of airplane windows, what with all the images of imminent disaster I can conjure up, but once we're in or above the clouds I can pretend that being thousands of miles up in the air is sort of normal. I don't know, but clouds make me feel better, floaty and calm in a good way.

Balt. is very dirty- the little harbor area downtown by the mall is where you took that picture right? It has the most disgusting water!! UGH!

  • I love mayo...can I have your sandwich?

Great cloud pics. They always facinate me as well.

No problem with "non running" posts as this way we get to know more about you. ;-)

love that you had a no-window cab ride..i can just picture you trying to sit there with your eyes open, but the wind being to strong, so you're doing that super quick blink/eye squint thing... heh. good times.
