sniff test

3 10:00 miles, with a 1/4 mile kick. the miles are going by very well this week. i'm excited about being on track with my mileage goal so far. i should set fitness related goals more often.

didn't have a chance to wash any of my workout clothes tonight. i performed the title of this post and proceeded to the gym with somewhat acceptable attire.

something tells me that most do not exercise simply to get their body into a certain shape. we all have motivations that are deep in the pscyhe (i think?).
maybe you are motivated by
fear,
acceptance,
victory,
love,
or otherwise.
i find the subject of motivation quite interesting. the gym was packed tonight, must be spring break. i couldn't help counting out the 40-50 people in the treadmill/elliptical area all pushing themselves and sweating and grinding it out for likely very different reasons. or maybe the motivations are similar? i dunno. i wondered though. they should have one of those pscyhology tests that spits out a big profile on what motivates your soul. like that myers briggs deal but for motivation. now i'm just blabbering on. and what was that post about characteristics of a hot girl? sorry about that, i got way off track. tomorrow is a rest day so i will do a lifting routine or maybe just rest. good night!

p.s. i'm motivated to some degree by all of the examples i mentioned. probably some other stuff too but those are the first things that came to mind.

  • I think if you decide that the "hot girls" are a motivating factor for you in your physical quest, then you can nicely swing your remarks back around to fitness. I'm "off topic" so often, I've actually gotten pretty good at stringing together a negligible connection to fitness for just about every ridiculous thing that runs through my mind. Once you've tried it a few times, it really isn't hard to do. Oh, and, as an example - awesome run today! You've really been packing on the miles the last couple of weeks. :)
