"you're gonna make it"

3 miles, 30:08. hal has today as cross training but i had some pent up energy with yesterday's off day. hadn't planned on 3 in 30 but with 1/4 mile left it seemed within reach so i turned on the after-burners. so close.

afterwards, great shoulder workout. moved up to a new weight with db military press. sets of front lats, side lats. threw in some shrugs but not too heavy-- haven't been doing those for a while, maybe go heavier next time.

now the focus turns to the 7 miler on the schedule for saturday. ooh my.
------------------------------------
you saw my photo probably, so you know i look kinda young (understatement?). even though i'm not that young (i swear some days i feel 50). one day last week instead of going to target to get a protein/energy bar, i went to a smaller owned shop. its more expensive but i try to do what i can to support those guys, they've owned those shops forever then big bad target moves in and undercuts them all. well anyway this guy who i always buy overpriced stuff from says to me, "young man you are going to make it one day, you are a hard worker i can tell. you keep it up". hehe. i didn't have the heart to tell him i'm kind of an old man really. but that was nice of him. i walked back to cubeland thinking you know what, i am going to make it one day mister shop owner man, i won't let you down. i can do it!

  • Oh yeah, 29 is SO OLD.

But, you aren't REALLY old enough to be my son like I said before. Well, almost...

When my husband was your age, he went back to our high school to borrow a film camera from one of the teachers. After he left a girl in the class asked the teacher if that cute guy "had a girlfriend." She was quite horrified to find out how old he was! A real baby face.
