a brief tour

saturday night. tonight i have a date with the internet and a re-run of Entourage. it seemed to be heading this way earlier in the week so i was resigned to the fact. i'm fairly confident i can make something happen for next weekend. i'm not worried (yet). thus you get a long post, which may or may not be a good thing. its not all about running. i'll mix it up.
------------
today's "long" run called for 14 miles. i had planned to stretch it out a bit more because it doesn't seem right to run 14 this week and then jump to 20 next week. but alas i arrived near the parking lot where i parked, right around the 14 mile mark and it didn't take much convincing. plus Hal surely knows what he is talking about, so who am i to argue.

however, i was able to do my 9 mile run on early friday evening. and then i ran the 14 on saturday morning. did you catch that bit of hypocrisy? anyway, the back to back mileage was a fairly successful experiment. my legs were a little tight on saturday morning, and the shins were just a little more alert. but nothing unbearable. the tightness came and went, but i was never in pain or necessarily uncomfortable at all. i didn't feel like a champ though.

without fail i seem to be running the wrong way when an absolutely beautiful girl, wearing an outstanding choice of workout gear, manages to breeze by me in the wrong direction. it has happened 2 weeks in a row now. today was just mad ridiculous. i almost turned around and followed but that just didn't seem right. wow though. the image of those green shorts is burned into my brain forever. further, i can run for 2 to 3 hours around the hottest running spot in the state and yet when it comes right down to it i'll see 1 or maybe 2 totally ridiculously-oustandingly hot girls. the number of beautiful girls i see and that i'd love to go out with is a lot higher. but if a person were to be really picky (which i have no right to be), there are only 1 or 2 that will totally knock your socks off. today it was green shorts girl and then there was one other but after green shorts girl i've already forgotten girl #1.

for the first 3-4 miles i took the camera with me to take a few pictures of the neighborhood i want to live in. these houses are right on one of the lakes though, whereas i should probably make it a goal to own a house that located more towards the middle of the neighborhood, if you catch my drift.

i love these houses; i love the architecture, and the fact that each house is unique, and has character. i love this neighborhood. i WILL live here. hopefully soon, that is the goal. i could have taken some cool pictures but i felt pretty creepy as it was, stopping to take pictures of the houses. i ran early in the morning though so hopefully nobody that lives in the neighborhood saw me. sometimes other runners were near me so i couldn't take a picture of every house but here are some. the pictures don't really do the neighborhood justice. enjoy!

one of my favorites.

me like. maybe too big for a single person? heh.

another favorite although you can't really see the house from this picture.

living on this lake is so sought after that people pay huge amounts of money to buy a house. then they tear it down and spend a ton of money to build a brand new one in the same location. here's a new one that looks like it could be finished soon.

look at the for sale sign!! this one could be mine!!! how sweet would that be. so sweet.

here is a better angle of the house for sale. uhhh, yeah, i could get used to living here. what a beauty!

Edit: I just looked up the stats on this house, on the internet:
approx sq ft: 8,010
bedrooms: 6 (the exercise room is 28 x 13 feet!)
bathrooms: 6; two fulls, three 3/4, one 1/2.
acres: .400
List price: $3,500,000.
monthly payment assuming 20% down and including property taxes:

$22,218 ha ha ha!!!!!! i love it.

but NO!!! another dream dashed by reality! well hey its good to have dreams! always aim high in life. always.

here is a rear view picture, taken from the internet real estate site--

  • Those houses are beautiful! What kind of camera do you take with you when you run? I'd like to get something nicer than my cameraphone but small enough that I can strap yet another gadget onto me in any remaining open space.

  • wow!! how beautiful :) you know, if you ever go talk to one of these hot running chicks and start dating her you're going to have to hope she doesn't find your blog or delete all these posts about checking out hot running chicks!! LOL!!

  • Beautiful houses. Maybe by the time you can afford the one with the pool I can fit into a bikini...lol.

  • I am so moving into #10. We can be neighbors.

Oh and BY THE WAY I have not forgotten that a couple weeks ago you had two dates in one week with cute girls, and you said that if things WENT WELL you wouldn't post anything about it, because that would be ungentlemanly. Or something like that.

So. You never posted about it again. I am drawing some conclusions here.

  • You had two dates in one week with hot women - how could I have missed that??? Also, did you put the decimal in the wrong place on the acreage because .4 acres seems awfully small for an 8,000 sq ft house.

  • We are half way towards owning our home if you consider the market value and our mortgage. I have friends and relatives who are trading up like mad as the U.S. real estate market continues up and up. I don't think I can imagine living with just me and the wife and kids in a house with six bathrooms. Imagine the cleaning required alone!

My fantasies have realigned so that rather than imagining living there I'll rather be invited to your house-warming party and then go home to my three toilets - two of which could probably currently use a scrub ;)

  • oh baby! how beautiful are those houses! I can imagine why you want to run past those houses - they look like a little lego display village! wow!

  • Why didn't you use your camera to take a photo of "green shorts gal"?
