almost half

my 13 was tough, there is no denying it. i got really fatigued at the end. i walked 4 times for 1 minute each, during the last half.

heart rate: good, fine, pick up the pace, let's go.
leg muscles: dude let's quit, this sucks.

how about some numbers..
calories burned: 1,313
# of heart beats durig the run: 23,300
cool.
total time: 2:35:16

i felt more thirsty too (its still hot). i haven't had much water this week. last night before i went to bed i drank 1 liter of water because i realized i hadn't been drinking water. that was very inconvenient because i knew i was going to have to go to the bathroom at least 3 times before i could actually go to bed. i'll have to force myself to drink more water during the week from now on.

i ate 2 clif shots during the run this time. at about 6.8 miles, i finished my big loop back to the car. ate clif shot, gulped down water, sipped on some powerade, stretched a little, and headed back out there.

hey do you know what else happened on this run? i felt like i had to go #2 (which means take a dump ha ha) about 4 times. miles 5 through 6 and then later on near 10 miles. aren't you glad to know this? this morning i had an english muffin with peanut butter for the first time as a pre-run food. ok i think i will be switching back to the banana(s)?

plently of lovely ladies out there today. very nice. today they all seemed to be wearing a white sports bra which i strongly endorse. :) not that i was looking or anything. ha.

upon arriving home after the run, i stepped out of my car and i was stumbling a little. i feel a tired, i think i'm going to take a nap.

  • Way to go B!! You're doing awesome with your training. I used you for my inspiration during my run this morning. I was so tired and wanted to stop really early on, but I thought of you and could hear you saying "Come on, you can do it [Anonymous]! Just a little longer. You're doing great!" heh. So I pumped on a bit longer...thanks for the help! :-)

Keep up the great runs and hilarious posts! I see I missed some good stuff during my vacation. :-(

Have a great rest of your weekend!

  • "leg muscles: dude let's quit, this sucks. " Worry only when your whole body says it. Good job on the run.

By the way neon pink sports bras rule...lol.

  • Again...funny post! Glad you were able to push through the run :-) My pre-run breakfast is an English muffin with PB...and I never have problems during a run. But, every tummy is different!

  • dude you kicked my arse... i was a little past 13 miles at 2:45.. job well done... i too am still hurtin (right calf muscle is uh.. not coorporating with me today!)

  • Of course your leg muscles say this sucks. That's why they're not in charge!! And, I totally unf. know what you mean about the unhappiness of the intestinal unit. Sometimes even the tried and true won't prevent it. Sigh.

And what is your recommended white bra? :)

  • What a great run! I don't know how you can do it in this heat, but more power to you!

  • Way to go!! Even thought it was difficult, you finished and that’s all that matters! A few months ago the thought of 13 miles would have killed us, but now it’s “almost” natural. :)

  • Hi *Brent! Did you happen to read Hal’s comments from Monday (week 9). He said, “You should run upright. Your back should be straight...ignore anyone who tells you to lean into it, even when running uphill”. I’m not sure who to believe–Hal or Chi Running. What do you think?

  • I think I believe in the Chi Running form, but it is hard for me to remember everything. Once I start running, I get in a “zone” and I completely forget about my form. Maybe I should have my stop watch go off every few minutes to check on my form (as suggested by the author). Yet, I feel that running should be natural and not something you have to learn how to do (which contradicts a belief in Chi Running, so I’m sure what I really think). I haven’t had any running problems since high school so I must be running “right”. :) ~ Just curious...does your real name start with letter B? I feel weird calling you Brent now, because I know it’s not your real name. :)

  • I'm NOT sure what I really think (opps-I forgot a word)
