"now raise your arms to the sky. breathe deeply"

i tried a yoga DVD today. its about 34 minutes. a lot of stretching, lower abs, lower back, working on posture and breathing, stuff like that. i felt pretty goofy doing the exercises. i checked my blinds a few times to make sure they were closed all the way. "now tighten your buttocks", the instructor kept saying. ha ha ha! how am i supposed to relax when she is saying funny things like that huh? i was sore and tight from yesterday's leg work so some of the stretching was tough. overall its a good way to stretch, breathe, and tighten the buttocks. pilates seems more advanced, maybe i will try that sometime soon too.

i did my 3 mile run this morning. i ran the hill twice and almost puked, but not much else to report. i'm tempted to just keep running up and down that hill until i puke. maybe next time.

i made this salad today all on my own. shrimp, light honey mustard dressing, mix with salad, eat. it was good and filling. i bet it was less than 200 calories. this is about as complicated as i gets for me (i'm impressed with myself when i'm able to make a steak in the ge0rge foreman).

  • That looks yummy. Can you make my lunch for me?

When you do those hills just keep chanting "hills are our friends, hills are our friends". Maybe someday we will believe it. :-)

Now a hop to the right...
(Sorry if words are off - been a while)
I couldn't help but think of Rocky Horror as you said "tighten your buttocks."

  • Looking at that salad makes me want one too. As far as running up and down a hill till I puke...not so much. :D

  • I probably couldn't run up a hill to save my life, not even if zombies were chasing me. But when I'm walking, I actually LIKE the hills. It stretches out my muscles in a different way from walking flat and weirdly is refreshing.
