Inspiration

I'm a sucker for biographies and autobiographies. I think you should go watch the Ray movie. Jamie Foxx gave an outstanding performance. I mean outstandingly insane, one of the best I've seen in a long time. It would not be out of the question to say that is the best biography performance anyone will ever give. I really felt like I was watching Ray Charles live his life for real.

I like reading and watching biographies because I learn a lot and I become inspired all over again. I didn't know a lot about Ray Charles--I don't even know how to say that he had talent without understating the fact. Just AMAZING. When you listen to his music you can really feel what he is singing. I won't lie, I got a little choked up watching one of the DVD specials called, Ray Remembered. These are rhetorical questions but, how will you choose to make an impact with your life? How do you want to be remembered? Are you using your talents to the best of your ability? Living each day with passion? Healthy, thoughtful, fun? Will you be able to look back at 2005 and say you did everything in your power to live every minute of your life?

It happened tonight...I tasted the most disgusting meal yet on this here diet. ick. I only ate a bite and then popped a different meal into the microwave. Frankly it wasn't that great either but eh.

Tonight's run will be a leisurely 3 miles. I've already started to become a bit worried about the 6 miler on Hal's week 1. I think that is going to be a toughy. I don't want to put myself out of commission with it. I have to make sure I eat really well going into it, whatever that means. Maybe I will just eat a lot. Fruit and carbs and stuff. And water-up. And I want to lift tonight, chest I think.

Jamie Foxx's real name is Eric Bishop. See you even learn things reading GQ!

  • Hey, don't psyche yourself out about the six miler. When I'm faced with long runs, I play "games" with them. In your case, it's not six miles, maybe it's six, leisurely one mile runs. Or three two mile runs. If you're doing it on the treadmill, maybe you even want to add a little speed during the last tenth or few tenths of each mile. (then go back to regular speed). It keeps things interesting and you get a little speed workout in there as well. Just take it easy and you'll do great!

cool that is a very good idea, those jedi mind tricks will work on me for sure. i will do a 2 mile "warmup", then run 2 miles, and then a 2 mile cool down jog!
