Planning to go off the plan.

well the time is here, time to go off the plan after 2 days. bummer, i am disappointed.

an old college buddy called to reminisce and complain about our jobs over lunch this week. tomorrow to be exact. there was a split second where i considered declining but we only meet up for lunch about once a quarter. so i guess i will just have a salad? lame. one side salad with no flavor please, yes put that fat free dressing on the side. i was hoping to follow the plan EXACTLY for at least a month or so.

and on friday i'm scheduled to do some serious card playing. for big dough $$ with some muy rico dudes from the office. land mines will be everywhere. tons of snacks and food etc. i will be trying to diffuse the questions about why i'm drinking water and eating nothing. why do people care what other people eat? weird man. i will prepare myself for the ribbing i will receive. plus i always feel like i'm being rude to the host when i decline everything.
*must...be....strong*

  • I hear you. I'm going to give you some real [unsolicited] girly-girl advice here. You might volunteer on poker night to bring something you can eat. Like a fruit or veggie platter, nuts, etc. I've even volunteered to bring cheese and crackers (my nemesis!) so I can secretly replace them with fatfree or lowfat versions. It's a little like sneaking decaf in when people expect you to bring coffee, but criminy, it's just one night. And whatever you decide to do for lunch, do it with authority. You don't have to apologize for being willful about your own diet. - Mia

  • hmm i like your line of thinking. is there such things as fat free chicken wings? hehe.

  • I'm not sure about fat free wings, but the hotter they are, the more work it is for your body to digest them, so they actually contribute less calories. How's that for a win-win? Besides, high protein snacks are always a winner because they'll keep you feeling full longer.
