Poignant Irrelevance

i bought everything on my list today. i spent $94 which is a whole lot for me, for one trip to the grocery store. i bought broccoli as my vegetable with fiber, so i hope it does actually have lots o' fiber because i never really checked that out beforehand. i think i can do this..yup i think i can. by the way does anyone know where i can get flax/flax seed or whatever that stuff is? and very simply, why do people take it?

i did actually buy a new scale this weekend too. the real reason i bought it is because my other one was too far off from those official "doctor" scale types and i got sick of wondering what i really weighed. and while i'm sure this all sounds pretty silly to normal weight folks, those of us who are losing or who have lost in the past know that having an accurate scale is one more thing that sets the mind at ease.

i checked out spinning class offerings at my club, ltf, and it appears that only one class does not conflict with my work schedule. but hey i guess i could try it on saturday morning. i hate riding the bike but i'm interested in some new ways to add cross training stuff.

now i must attend to some very very important events. the NFL my friends, is about to begin another splendid week...keep your eyes open for those players who get "JACKED UP!" (an ESPN segment, don't ask).

  • Have you ever tried Endamame (shelled soybeans)? 1/2 cup has 9 grams of fiber, which I'm fairly sure is a lot more than 1/2 of broccoli has. They're easily microwaved, then add a little salt and/or pepper and they're really good! I prefer to mix them with snap peas and broccoli then add a little bit of terriyaki sauce - so good. You can easily find them in the frozen veggie aisle.
